Saint John Lutheran Church – Council Bluffs
Saint John Lutheran Church – Council Bluffs
The existing church in downtown Council Bluffs was completely demolished except for the sanctuary. New offices, classrooms, a kitchen, a gathering area, and a multi-purpose room were built. The building’s mechanical systems were removed and updated. Challenges with the project involved asbestos abatement associated with the demolition and a high water table that was encountered during foundation installation. Some of the old stained glass windows were salvaged and used as focal points at the entrance and gathering area. High-end millwork and finishes were installed throughout the new areas.
