As part of the Blackstone revitalization, Lueder was proud to lead construction for the historic renovation of the Blackstone Hotel, working alongside Clarity Development and GreenSlate Management. The first in the state of Nebraska to carry the Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants flag, owners rebranded the hotel as the Kimpton Cottonwood Hotel. The original eight stories that rise into the skyline shadow a new annex which was constructed to the west. The annex includes guest rooms, meeting rooms, and other common spaces. Renovations for the hotel included 205 guest rooms, several dining options, a resort-style swimming pool, and almost 11,000 square feet of meeting space. This includes the restored rooftop Schimmel Ballroom, which offers an elegant gathering space with beautiful skyline views of Omaha.
“Bringing the Historic Blackstone Hotel back to life was a dream that we couldn’t have even imagined when we began,” said Jay Lund, Principal of GreenSlate Development. “The rich history of this building and its significance to Omaha is incredible, and what we are creating will be remembered for many generations to come. We are truly honored and humbled to work in the Blackstone District, restoring the hotel project in particular.”
